We challenge all the involved startups to explore the potential of Artificial Intelligence to create innovative and scalable solutions in real-world contexts.
The AI Innovation Challenge offers exclusive access to PwC's specialized knowledge, extensive network of contacts and resources.
Our multidisciplinary teams will support the process from start to finish, offering continuous assistance at every stage of the competition, in a strategic partnership focused on co-creation.
This program targets AI solutions developed by startups with a high level of maturity, which are ready for implementation with the client. Selected participants will work side by side with PwC, in a unique collaboration aimed at developing a set of proof of concepts.
The program will culminate in a competition where three startups will emerge victorious. Selection will be based on the effectiveness, feasibility and impact of the solutions developed. The prizes include a financial value of €12,500 for the 1st place, and a service hour grant from PwC worth €12,500, distributed among the 2nd and 3rd places. These rewards aim to support the growth and development of the winning startups, distributed as follows:
1st Place – €12,500
2nd Place – €7,500 worth of PwC hours
3rd Place – €5,000 worth of PwC hours

As a Director of Data & AI at PwC Portugal, he has extensive experience as a consultant in the banking and education industries, having worked with companies such as Santander, BearingPoint, and Le Wagon. He's a global leader in Data Science training. Has also been involved in various projects related to digital product creation, data process and flow design, implementation of analytical and predictive models, risk management, and financial reporting. Currently, leads teams focused on developing data platforms and Artificial Intelligence solutions, including the conceptualisation, training, and implementation of traditional machine learning and generative AI models in a business context.

Eduardo Barroso Silva
Head of Startup Ecosystem
Senior Manager at PwC Portugal, with responsibilities as Head of Startup Ecosystem and Emerging Tech. He bridges the startup ecosystem in its different facets, as well as in the areas of emerging technologies, including augmented reality, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence. His extensive experience in the entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem also comes from a period spent at one of the Portuguese unicorns, as well as from the main fintech incubator in Portugal.
