On the job training

The first days of work are essential for building relationships with colleagues, for involvement and integration in the firm, for understanding our Values and Purpose, as well as for developing the first professional skills.

For this reason, what we propose to you is a “journey” that will never be done in isolation. You will have a set of initial training essential to your work, as well as your own learning pace, accompanied by more experienced colleagues who will help you identify additional training needs.

At PwC, you will work in a team with colleagues who share the same concerns, daily challenges and obstacles, and work difficulties. In each learning group, you will be closely monitored by a more experienced colleague and encouraged to share your individual training needs, recognizing that, in practice, such needs are often shared by other colleagues at the beginning of your career.

New Joiners, who are recruited through our annual recruitment process, start their jobs in September each year. In this program, you will undergo several training sessions in the first few weeks, some of which will be residential.

The courses aim to develop technical skills in auditing, taxation and consulting work methodologies, as well as to deepen your integration into the firm. These weeks also include training related to the development of soft skills, which are essential for the work you will be doing.

These are weeks of intense emotions, usually unforgettable and remembered in the future as a turning point in your personal and professional life.

We actively seek to enhance the academic, technical and professional skills of our people, supporting and encouraging the attendance and completion of specialized training, based on postgraduate courses, MBAs, Masters and other specialization courses.

In this way, we seek to create value for our organization, value your professional commitment and actively develop your career.

Whether in Portugal, through a Management and Leadership Program for Executives, or through PwC Business School in Europe, our People have access to intensive and comprehensive training programs that seek to promote their personal and professional skills.

Leadership, Strategy, Marketing and Negotiation are just some of the modules designed for PwC professionals and that promote their professional growth.

These can include foreign language skills, soft skills development, IT skills, improving the use of work tools, technical and personal development… Whatever the case, you can always contact us.

Taking into account the current legislative and regulatory framework that regulates auditing activities, and considering that such activities are now the exclusive responsibility and competence of Statutory Auditors (ROC), PwC can support you if you seek to obtain this qualification/certification.

Our People have an experienced team in this area that will value your effort and determination in achieving this goal. As a rule, our People obtain excellent results. Other professional certifications such as CISA, CIA, are subject to frequent support depending on your needs and the firm's and your professional growth and development.
