Taking into account the importance of the recognition of excellence and merit of sea activities carried out in the context of the Excellens Mare Awards and the successful experience of the Excellens Mare Galas, PwC Portugal considers that it is important to provide an opportunity to highlight innovation and entrepreneurship projects with potential for the future development of sea activities, thereby creating a bridge between projects with proven results and emerging projects with potential for the future. In this context, in partnership with BPI, the Blue Revelation Diplomas 2018 have been conceived.
Blue Revelation Diploma: Innovation
Aims to recognise quality of innovation of projects, people or entities that show potential for future development in activities of the sea and other water resources.
Blue Revelation Diploma: Entrepreneurship
Aims to recognise entrepreneurship in projects, people or entities that show potential for future development in activities of the sea and other water resources.
The Blue Revelation Diplomas are annual and result from choices made by members of the jury, after listening to experts, associations and relevant actors linked to the Sea.

BioMimetx - BMX11
BioMimetx’s BMX11 product is an innovative marine- -based anti-fouling that prevents fouling of algae and marine invertebrates in vessels and equipment that are in direct contact with water. Besides being a biological product, non-toxic, which does not damage the environment, aims to have a lower cost than other anti- -fouling less environment friendly. The eventual success of this product that is in the test phase can revolutionize this sector globally.

Algaplus
ALGAplus is a company engaged in the production of marine macroalgae and by-products for the food and cosmetic sectors marketed under the Tok brands of Mar®, ALGA +® and Sea Originals. The main innovation of the company lies in the system of cultivation of algae on land applying the concept of integrated multi-trophic aquaculture in Biological production mode, being therefore an environmentally sustainable production and with high quality control. The example of perseverance and determination of its founders, biologists, allowed to overcome the various stages of the development cycle of a startup, which had/has a strong research and development component, and which is now a young company that needs to grow its production activity in order to respond to the demand of international markets.
