Update of the monthly minimum wage in 2022 and compensation to employer

In brief

Decree-Law 109-B/2021, of 7 December, establishes:

• The update of the monthly minimum wage to EUR 705, from 1 January 2022 onward; and
• The creation of an exceptional compensation resulting from the update of the monthly minimum wage; this compensation shall be paid as a monetary allowance, per employee; employers, including individuals, are eligible under the conditions set forth in the law.
