PwC Portugal considers that the recognition of excellence and merit in sea related activities is fundamental to the development of the economy of the sea in Portugal and in the World.
Drawing attention to and recognising successful success cases and references in sea related activities, not only is right for all that dedicate their talent to blue growth, but also is fundamental to increase the motivation of people and teams that want to give their permanent contribution to the sustainable valorisation of sea resources.
The Excellens Mare Awards aim to be a contribute of reference, in Portugal and in the World, in terms of the recognition of excellence and merit at sea.
Only with the promotion of excellence and the support of merit are we able to progress to higher standards of growth and sustainable development in a context of increasingly complex global challenges!
Aims to recognise excellence and merit of individuals or entities who have performed a remarkable role (i) in the implementation of an integrated vision of sustainable economic development of sea-related activities or (ii) with positive and transversal impact in important sea industries.
Aims to recognise excellence and merit of individuals, entrepreneurs, companies or entities that create value and generate wealth in the economy of the sea.
Aims to recognise excellence and merit of individuals or entities who use sea themes as an essential resource and means of inspiring their productions for art, including music, sculpture, painting, writing, photography, cinema, as well as other projects that promote marine culture.
Aims to recognise excellence and merit of individuals or entities (i) with proven merit in safety of people in contact with the sea; or (ii) who have created forms of cooperation between relevant players related with the sea in order to develop joint activities that add value; or (iii) with considerable experience working at sea, including operating hours in vessels, platforms or other structures in direct contact with the aquatic environment.
Aims to recognise excellence and merit of individuals or entities that use and/or promoting the sea as the context for physical activities and sports.
Aims to recognise excellence and merit of individuals or entities that produce significant advances in the understanding of the aquatic environment or that promote blue innovation.

The Excellens Mare Awards are annual and result from choices made by members of the jury, after listening to experts, associations and relevant actors linked to the Sea.
